Victim Compensation


Free mental health counseling can be arranged if qualified and if the program is still available

40 sessions for,

victims affected directly

30 sessions for,

children of victims
homicide survivors (parent, sibling, child, spouse, registered domestic partner, fiance/fiancee (witnesses
only) of the deceased due to crime
caretakers of children / minors who are victimized
direct victims of unlawful sexual Intercourse


15 sessions for,

witnesses / indirect victims / derivative adult victim


victims may receive benefits to cover costs for,

Mental Health Pastoral Counseling
Medical expenses
Lost wages / support
Funerals
Moving expenses
Crime - Scene cleanup
Rehabilitation
Attorney fees
Emergency funds


Crimes may entail,

Domestic violence
Assault
Child abuse
Sexual assault
Molestation
Homicide
Robbery
Drunk Driving
Vehicular manslaughter

Crimes are to be reported to the police, sheriff, FBI, highway patrol, adult protective services, child
protective services within a year

Claim for compensation are made within a year

If late explain (for example, victim was under 18) / sex victims can file before 28th birthday

Minors who witnessed a violent crime may receive benefits to cover the costs of mental health counseling
for emotional injuries
